Conforming Matrix Ultrasonic Welding Fixtures are designed to incorporate the following elements. (1) The power supply which converts line power to high frequency and high voltage needed by the transducer. (2) a transducer containing piezoelectric crystals, which changes the incoming high frequency electrical signal to mechanical vibrations, (3) a booster that transmits the vibration energy and increases its amplitude, (4) horn(s) that delivers the vibration energy to the material being welded and (5) a nest used to support the components to be welded.
We can integrate your preferred supplier (Dukane, Branson, Sonics & Materials, etc.) of ultrasonic equipment, into a stand alone machine or automated line of assembly equipment.
Component materials include: polycarbonate (PC), polyphenylene oxide, polystyrene, ABS, polyetherimide, acrylic, polysulfone, polyester, nylon, acetal, polyethylene, polyphenylene sulfide and polypropylene.
Commodities that
can be ultrasonic welded:
Door
Panels, welding of map pockets, bolsters and shoddy pad
- Instrument Panels, welding of clusters, bezels and console inserts
- Interior Body Trim, welding of auxiliary boxes, inserts and decorative trim
- Package Trays, welding of speaker grilles, shoddy pad and seatbelt trim
- Bezels & Faces, press welding of inserts into thermoplastic housings
- Transmission & fuel system welding of D-rings, gaskets and fittings
Specific features
of ultrasonic welding equipment:
Sensing
(non contact or contact) to verify correct component/commodity placement
- Pneumatic thrusters positioned for ultrasonic horn placement, fully adjustable in three planes
- Shuttle placement of nested components/commodities, horizontal, vertical or on an incline
- Multiple booster/horn points on a single machine, zoned to maximize generator usage
Horn
tips designed to your specific requirements
- PLC controls (AB, Modicon, GE, etc.) and HMI to meet your process requirements
- Automatic clamping and engineered sound enclosures
- Integration of rotary index tables or shuttle slide assemblies
Industries that use ultrasonic welding include appliance, automotive, electronics, home furnishings, medical and packaging.
