Electroform Paint Masks and Tooling
Conforming Matrix offers precise electroform masking tools required in coating applications to apply paint patterns to complex parts. We have the decades of experience that is necessary to produce accurate masks for a high quality finishing application. Our complementary capabilities with UV and PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating systems allow us to offer a turnkey system that includes both the masking and finishing.
We utilize innovative paint masking design techniques to decrease parts material handling, provide clean edge lines and increase production rates. Our custom paint mask tooling and fixtures are used in production environment for decorative paint masking operations.
We construct paint mask fixtures of heavy duty steel frames and linear bearing slides. Automatic vertical rotary paint fixtures are designed for use with a fixed HVLP spray gun, two hand non tie-down cycle buttons, an air motor and gear box for auto rotation. This feature makes the paint mask fixture ideal for the production painting of cylindrical parts, such as hubcaps and center caps.
Our auto-flip-top auto-rollover trunion paint mask fixture is designed with linear bearing slide construction for precision alignment. This fixture allows part painting on the front and back sides and can optionally be configured with pneumatic hinge movement. This feature allows a mask with deep pockets to be removed from the part without scratching.
Our paint mask fixtures can be designed for manual operation with a caster stand or for a robotic turntable or slide system for automatic operation.
Masking Electroformed
Conforming Matrix first developed nickel plated electroform masking for the automotive and consumer products industries. Our masks and nests work in conjunction with a wide range of paint fixtures, from standard vertical to automatic tilt and flip top rollover fixtures. Nickel electroform mask and masking rest pad are designed to paint automotive grilles. Masks and pads can also be designed to work with rollover trunion fixtures.
Our plating facility is capable of producing high quality nickel electroform masking. We feature three 2,200 gallon tanks, two 500 gallon tanks and reverse osmosis water treatment. We have one of the largest plating facilities in the masking industry, which enables us to handle masking jobs of almost any size.
Our masking / tooling department is staffed with experienced personnel and features a climate controlled room for the application of conductive coating prior to the plating process. By controlling the environmental we've improved the plating process by virtually eliminating all cracking and other related problems that sometimes cause a poor quality electroform.
